Amado Beach is located on the Vicentine Coast, an integral part of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park. It is situated in the parish of Bordeira, municipality of Aljezur, near the village of Carrapateira. The beach is nestled between valleys and cliffs that help create a sheltered environment.
In the northern part of the beach, a wooden staircase and a walkway provide access to the top of the cliff, offering an elevated perspective over the sandy area and the surrounding coastal landscape.
With an extensive sandy area stretching for about 1.2 kilometers, Amado Beach offers plenty of space. The surroundings are marked by characteristic rock formations. In the northern end, rocks with unusual shades, such as pink, red, and ocher, stand out. In the southern part, which is quieter, dark shale rocks predominate. Small watercourses flow into the sandy area, contributing to the natural dynamics of the place.
This beach is widely recognized for its waves, which remain consistent throughout the year. The sea conditions are particularly favorable for surfing and bodyboarding, attracting enthusiasts of these sports at various skill levels. It is a reference spot for wave sports in the region and a venue for sporting events.
In addition to sports enthusiasts, Amado Beach receives a growing number of families. During the summer season, and especially on weekends, it is one of the most frequented beaches on the Vicentine Coast.
For those visiting the beach, some basic amenities are available during the bathing season. The beach has lifeguard surveillance to ensure the safety of bathers. Restrooms and a parking area are also available in the vicinity of the beach access.
