Praia da Pipa, sometimes also known as Praia do Bento, is located on the coastline of the municipality of Sesimbra, within the parish of Castelo. This spot on the coast, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean and situated in the Costa Azul region, is characterized by a particularly sheltered and natural setting. The surrounding area is classified as a protected zone, a factor that significantly contributes to the preservation of its pristine environment.
The beach's layout is notable for its two distinct sandy areas. These sandy sections are separated by a rock formation that extends from the cliff. At the northern end of the beach, there is a long series of rocks that defines part of the landscape. It is a relevant aspect that, during high tide, the extent of the sandy area becomes considerably smaller; however, a portion of the sand located to the north remains.
Praia da Pipa is distinguished by its secluded character and its remarkable natural preservation. The site is known for being less sought-after, contributing to an atmosphere of tranquility. Access to the beach involves using a trail, which usually leads to the southern sandy area. This arrival point is located near the mouth of the Crieira and Pipa streams. The waters in this area are regularly monitored and are of suitable quality for bathing.
