The Estremoz Bullring is located in the Quinta das Quintinhas area, in the town of Estremoz. Historically, its original designation was linked to its proximity to the old Santa Catarina Gate and the walls surrounding the city, which gave it a direct connection to the historic perimeter and the built heritage of the town. Currently, it is integrated into the urban fabric, maintaining its relevance as a landmark in the area.
The Estremoz Bullring building is distinguished by its classical style, featuring a circular plan characteristic of this type of construction. Its structure includes stands and galleries that extend partly from the top, designed to accommodate a considerable number of spectators. Its capacity is significant, highlighting the scale of the venue as a stage for large events.
Inaugurated in 1904, this bullring is a landmark with over a century of history in the region. For many years, the building was inactive and in poor condition, leading to a period of decline. However, in 2013, after a substantial restoration project, the Estremoz Bullring was rehabilitated. This intervention allowed it not only to resume hosting bullfighting events but also its conversion into a multifunctional space, prepared to host a variety of other cultural and social activities, enriching the offering for the community and its visitors.
