Origin and History

The history of SocialELOOS is curious, with its roots dating back to 1986 with the creation of Rádio Fradelos. Born from the initiative of two local friends, this was the first popular, then designated "pirate," radio station in the municipality of Famalicão, immediately captivating the population of Fradelos and neighboring parishes. It operated for about three years, becoming a great success and a point of unity for the community.

After the interruption of the radio broadcasts in 1989, the association adapted its purpose. From 1993 onwards, it focused on the social area, concentrating on responding to the needs of the population. This milestone transformed the association into the Private Institution of Social Solidarity that we know today, officially recognized in 1998.
