Praia dos Salgueiros is located on the eastern coast of Terceira Island, within the area of Ribeira Seca de Baixo, in the locality of Vila de São Sebastião. This bathing spot belongs to the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo and offers a direct connection to the island's coastal landscape.
It is characterized by a bay with generally calm and clear waters. The area features a small pebble beach and steps that facilitate access to the sea. For those who prefer a different kind of swim, there is a seawater-fed pool, providing an alternative to direct ocean bathing. The surroundings are enhanced by a grassy area, inviting relaxation and contemplation of the maritime landscape.
The name of the beach, "Salgueiros" (Willows), refers to the presence of willow trees that were once abundant in this coastal area. Historically, this bay played a significant role, having been the main port of the former parish of São Sebastião, before consolidating as a leisure space. The site also includes a small stone-carved harbor, which maintains a discreet connection with recreational coastal fishing.
