Quinta do Mondego, located in Nelas, in the Dão region, was acquired in 1994 by the Fontes da Cunha family. Initially, the objective was to create a holiday retreat, but it quickly became a reference in the world of wines.
In 1996, the restructuring of the vineyards began, and in 2003, the first harvest of the Touriga Nacional grape variety took place, which gave rise to the first wine under the MUNDA brand. Today, Quinta do Mondego is one of the main wine estates in the region.
Currently, the estate occupies 70 hectares of vineyards along the banks of the Mondego River, creating a landscape of great natural beauty that contributes to the freshness and quality of the wines.
The estate is responsible for four wine brands, recognized both in the national and international markets for their elegance and freshness.
The winemaking at Quinta do Mondego is managed by Joana Cunha, who leads the family project. Joana graduated in Microbiology and specialized in Oenology, with learning experiences in Australia and Portugal, having been mentored by leading names in oenology.
Quinta do Mondego wines have been awarded, standing out for their quality and global recognition.
Quinta do Mondego wines are characterized by freshness, elegance and a strong connection to the terroir of the Dão region. The proximity of the Mondego River gives them a distinct profile, with balanced acidity and striking aromatic notes.
