The Mangualde Municipal Swimming Pools are located in a green area, slightly outside the urban center of the city, integrated into an environment with several other public infrastructures. The site is adjacent to the Public Library and benefits from a natural, south-facing slope.

This position offers an unobstructed panoramic view, with the vastness of the Serra da Estrela forming the horizon. It is a natural setting that enhances the visitor's experience, providing a pleasant and peaceful scenery.

Architecture and Landscape Integration

The architectural project of the Mangualde Municipal Swimming Pools skillfully took advantage of the terrain's natural characteristics. Part of the building is semi-buried on its northern slope, which optimized its integration into the landscape and facilitated the main access to the complex.

The structure develops on several levels. On the upper floor, there is a privileged observation point over the indoor pools, taking advantage of the slope to offer expansive views of the surrounding landscape. A generous staircase and a ramp ensure the connection between floors, guaranteeing fluid and accessible circulation.

Aquatic Environments and Leisure Offerings

The Mangualde Municipal Swimming Pools complex offers a variety of aquatic spaces designed for different uses. Indoors, there are two covered pools, one larger and one shallower, adapted for various activities.

For warmer days, the exterior features an organically shaped pool, complemented by a children's paddling pool and a vast grassy sunbathing area, ideal for relaxation. In addition to the aquatic infrastructures, the site also offers a spa area, with sauna and jacuzzi, and two squash courts, enriching the range of options for well-being and sports practice.
