Genesis and Vision

Novo Ciclo ACERT represents the realization of a long-standing cultural project. It was born from the initiative of ACERT (Associação Cultural e Recreativa de Tondela, Tondela Cultural and Recreational Association), an entity with a significant history dating back to 1976 with the creation of the group "O Trigo Limpo teatro ACERT". This space opened its doors to the public in two phases, completed in 1999. Its foundation, with the support of the municipality of Tondela and the Secretary of State for Culture, reflects a strong commitment to the cultural valorization of the interior of the country. Conceived as a center for cultural resources, Novo Ciclo ACERT aims to boost artistic activity and regional progress through culture.

A Stage for Multiple Expressions

Novo Ciclo ACERT offers a diversity of spaces dedicated to arts and culture. It features three main auditoriums: one with a capacity for 276 spectators, another with 116 seats, and an impressive open-air auditorium capable of hosting up to 468 people. In addition to the performance halls, the complex includes a gallery for exhibitions, an audio and video recording studio, and several work and rehearsal rooms, including a workshop dedicated to the performing arts. The set of infrastructures, complemented by a garden and a patio, creates an environment conducive to artistic creation, training, and presentation.

Center for Creation and Sharing

This space is more than a venue for presentations; it is a nucleus of active cultural life. Since 1994, Novo Ciclo ACERT has maintained a regular and diverse program, hosting performances in various artistic areas. It is recognized as a hub for artistic residencies, where creators can develop their projects, and a training center. The presence of the resident company "O Trigo Limpo teatro ACERT" underscores its vital role in the Portuguese theater scene. Its approach is to value the cultural potential of the interior of the country, creating bridges with other artistic structures and promoting a dialogue between tradition and modernity, resulting in a genuine and cosmopolitan cultural offering.
