It is located in Largo da Capela, in the heart of the small village of Póvoa da Pégada, in the municipality of Carregal do Sal, district of Viseu.
A small granite chapel with very simple lines, typical of the region's rural religious architecture. Its rustic and traditional appearance clearly showcases the identity of constructions from the past.
It is set in a quiet and welcoming area, surrounded by low houses and cobblestone streets, which preserves the village's authenticity and charm.
Although it features exposed stonework today, it was once depicted in a watercolour by Júlio Rodrigues, where it appeared plastered and painted white. This difference between eras shows how the chapel's appearance has evolved over time.
Ideal for a quick visit, whether on a tour of the region or as a detour on the local heritage route.
