Located in the peaceful village of Canas de Senhorim, in the municipality of Nelas, Quinta da Vitória is situated in a profoundly rural and isolated environment. This property is embraced by a rich natural setting, characterized by vast green areas and diverse tree species, such as pines, oaks, and olive trees, which lend the space an atmosphere of calm and serenity, typical of the Beira region's landscapes.
Quinta da Vitória's heritage unfolds into two distinct built nuclei. The main house, an imposing construction in granite, is a remarkable example of 20th-century residential architecture, following the model of the so-called "Portuguese House." Here, elements such as the tiled roof with eaves, parts of the facade whitewashed, a prominent chimney, and a characteristic "Beirã" balcony with a porch stand out. The second nucleus, known as the caretaker's house, offers a glimpse into the traditional architecture of the Beiras region, comprising two floors that in the past were intended for agricultural and domestic functions, also featuring a porch.
Quinta da Vitória was built in the 1930s, a project designed by architect Leonardo R. C. de Castro Freire. The property initially played a significant role in the agricultural and forestry activities of the region, operating as a productive farm. Its architectural and historical value was officially recognized through its classification as a Property of Municipal Interest, attesting to its importance for local and cultural heritage.
The surroundings of the quinta offer a setting of tranquility and natural beauty. Its terraced gardens invite moments of contemplation, complemented by a small artificial lake. The presence of a natural water spring, combined with the diversity of vegetation that includes eucalyptus and mimosas, enriches the landscape and accentuates the property's countryside ambiance, inviting a serene experience across its grounds.
