Built in the Aldeia Nova urbanization, in Ferreira de Aves, this chapel occupies a discreet position next to local dwellings. The surroundings maintain the serene character of a Beira village, with quiet streets and sporadic vegetation.
The building is located on a slight elevation, allowing it to stand out in a landscape of small hills and stone walls. Around it, one observes a simple urban layout, without high housing density.
The facade presents a sober composition: white-washed wall, eaves marked by dark tiles, and two narrow windows with colored glass. At the top, a red-painted wooden cross rests, standing out against the sky.
To the left, a white concrete bell tower rises, with two discreet arches for the bells. Entry is through two dark wooden doors, flanked by a wide oculus and an information panel embedded in the wall.
The surrounding space contributes to a sense of calm. The cobblestone pavement and the absence of intense traffic favor moments of contemplation. Natural light, filtered by the stained-glass windows, creates a welcoming atmosphere inside.
On clear days, the chapel stands out against an extensive blanket of high clouds, offering an interesting photographic spot for those who appreciate rural simplicity and the contrast of colors.
