The Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Saúde is located in the Lameirinhas area, a serene spot in the parish of São Lourenço de Ribapinhão, belonging to the municipality of Sabrosa. This place of retreat is integrated into a surrounding area marked by tranquility, adjacent to a spring with thermal characteristics, and surrounded by a wooded park, which invites calm and contemplation.
This sanctuary is a point of reference for local devotion, bringing together a set of elements that create a unique atmosphere. In addition to its main chapel, the complex includes a historical fountain, the House of Miracles, a wayside cross, and bandstands. The presence of a park with dense trees complements this space, offering a natural refuge where spirituality merges with the verdant landscape, providing a place of rest and reflection for visitors.
The sanctuary's chapel stands out for its Mannerist architecture, featuring a longitudinal plan with a single nave leading to the chancel. Inside, visitors can admire a choir loft, confessionals skillfully embedded in the walls, and pulpits that enrich the space. Also noteworthy are the two side chapels, adorned with Rococo-style altarpieces, and the main altarpiece, which falls within the Neoclassical style, demonstrating the artistic evolution and diversity present in the building.
Complementing the architectural ensemble, the Mannerist fountain, with its rectangular backsplash and two "carranca" shaped spouts, is an element of interest for its design and sculptural details. A few steps away stands the 19th-century wayside cross, a striking piece with its smooth shaft column, a square capital, and a Latin cross that incorporates a sculptural group, bearing witness to the faith and art of past centuries.
