Located in Largo da Praça, in Provesende, municipality of Sabrosa, district of Vila Real.
Built between the 16th and 18th centuries. The date 1578 is inscribed on the cage, which may be the year of its construction. In 1765, it underwent a renovation, as indicated by the date cut out on the weather vane.
Example of Manueline architecture, with a quadrangular cage made of stonework. It has salient angles and faces with rectangular openings. It is crowned by four pillars with florets and a conical element in the center. The shaft is octagonal and rests on five steps.
The upper part is topped by an 18th-century weather vane. It has similarities with the pillory of Vila Real.
Since 1933, it has been considered a Property of Public Interest, guaranteeing its protection and preservation.
