Situated atop Monte Farinha, it offers a stunning panoramic view of Mondim de Basto and the surrounding region.
The first chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Graça (Our Lady of Grace) was built in the 16th century. The original image is preserved, and currently the sanctuary displays another image for public worship.
In 1747, the chapel was rebuilt on the initiative of D. José de Bragança, Archbishop of Braga, due to the dilapidated state of the old structure. The main works were completed in 1758, and some improvements continued until 1775, the date engraved on the pulpit door.
This sanctuary is a place of pilgrimage and devotion, especially popular during religious festivities, attracting many visitors and devotees.
Surrounded by an imposing natural landscape, the sanctuary is a landmark in the region. The ascent to Monte Farinha is an experience valued both for the landscape and the spiritual connection.
