Quinta do Crasto has ancient roots, dating back to 1615. The name "Crasto" comes from the Latin "castrum", which means "Roman fort", highlighting the antiquity of the place.
The Quinta has a historical landmark from 1758, placed during the time of the Marquis of Pombal to demarcate the world's first demarcated wine region. It is an important piece of national heritage.
It has belonged to the Roquette family since 1981, and is currently managed by the fourth generation. The family has invested in the renovation of the vineyards and in the production of high-quality wines, including DOC Douro wines and Port Wines.
Quinta do Crasto offers a wide range of products, from Douro red and white wines to Port Wines of special categories. It also produces excellent quality extra virgin olive oils.
Over the years, the quinta's wines and products have been widely recognized, both by the public and by specialized critics, and are highly sought after by wine connoisseurs.
The Quinta offers guided tours that include walks around the property, explanations about the wine production process and tastings. It is an opportunity to get to know the grape harvest and the historic vineyards up close.
In addition to wines, the Quinta offers experiences that include lunches harmonized with the wines produced on the property, providing a complete and unforgettable experience for visitors.
Due to high demand, it is recommended to make advance reservations for visits and tastings, especially during the harvest season.
