The Parish Church of Noura, dedicated to Our Lady of the Annunciation, is located in the peaceful village of Noura, belonging to the municipality of Murça. Situated in the area known as Salto, the church is located in the heart of the settlement, offering a point of reference and a space of tranquility in its surroundings. Its presence marks the village's urban landscape, inviting a moment for contemplation.
This religious temple stands out for its architecture that combines late-baroque elements with a more revivalist character. The church consists of a single nave and a chancel, which harmonize in their volumetrics. The sacristy, a functional and discreet element, is attached to the left side facade, naturally integrating into the main structure. The fusion of these styles gives the building a distinct identity, reflecting the periods in which it was built or adapted.
Upon crossing the church's doors, the visitor encounters an environment of great artistic value. Inside, the high choir stands out, inviting the gaze upwards. The nave walls contain, embedded in the masonry, two confessionals that bear witness to the history and faith of the place. On the Gospel side, the pulpit, a prominent element, reveals the mastery of the artisans of the time. However, it is the altarpieces that most capture attention: two collateral ones and the main altarpiece, all in a Neobaroque revivalist style. These are notable for the exuberance of the polychrome and gilded carving, which imparts a unique brilliance and a profound sense of visual richness to the sacred space.
