Located in the town of Arcos de Valdevez, in the district of Viana do Castelo.
Considered the oldest monument in the town and classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1960.
Built between the end of the 14th century and the beginning of the 15th century. In 1410 it already existed, mentioned in the will of Abbot João Domingues, who wanted to be buried there.
In the 17th century, the Brotherhood of Nossa Senhora da Conceição (Our Lady of the Conception) was created, which gave it its current name.
It went through a period of abandonment and had various uses, such as a cattle shed, fire department barracks, and warehouse.
It was in ruins when it was classified as a Property of Public Interest. In the 1970s, it was acquired by the Municipal Council and restored, reopening to the public in 1980 as a place of worship. In 2011, the roof was restored.
Late Romanesque style church, with a rectangular stone plan. Inside, a historic tomb chest stands out.
