Located in the center of Paredes de Coura, next to Largo Visconde de Moselos, near the Town Hall and the Pillory.
Built between 1892 and 1895 to replace the previous prison. It functioned as a prison until 1973, when it was deactivated. Since then, it has had cultural and tourist uses.
Building with a simple structure, with a rectangular plan. The main facade stands out for its decorative battlements and the national coat of arms. The walls are white, with granite details and barred windows.
Currently, it functions as a multi-purpose space for cultural and recreational activities, in addition to housing a tourist information point.
The building is located in a square paved with Portuguese cobblestones, forming geometric designs.
