Located near the Cainheiras winter settlement, about 3.5 km from Castro Laboreiro, in the municipality of Melgaço. It is within the Peneda-Gerês National Park, surrounded by nature.
Built in Roman times (1st or 2nd century), it was part of the ancient Minhoto-Galaica road, a road used for trade and travel. Over the centuries, it underwent several works, especially in the Middle Ages and in the 18th century.
Also known as "Devil's Bridge" due to its difficult crossing. The passage is narrow and uneven, which can cause difficulties for those trying to cross by car.
It was recognized as a Property of Public Interest in 1986, which highlights its historical and heritage value.
It has a narrow deck, almost three meters wide, supported by two granite arches. The floor is made of large stone slabs, and the sides are made up of robust blocks.
It is located in a rural area, surrounded by fields and forest. It is about 2 km from the chapel of Senhora da Boavista and 4 km from the chapel of Senhora de Numão. The path to the bridge has some curves.
