The Casa Verde is located in the heart of Vila Nova de Cerveira, in a central and easily accessible area. Its main facade stands out in the town's urban landscape, facing Rua Queiróz Ribeiro, one of its most notable streets.

A Unique Architecture

This imposing palatial building is easily recognizable by its distinct architecture. Spread over a ground floor, first floor, and attic, its exterior facade is entirely covered with tiles of a remarkable greenish hue, a characteristic that gives it the name Casa Verde (Green House). At the top, the parapet features a sculpted design, adorned with granite craters and, in the center, a figure of a Roman warrior in white faience, details that enrich its aesthetic.

Traces of an Era

The construction of the Casa Verde reflects the aesthetic refinement and architectural quality of buildings erected between the late 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century. The style, which is sometimes associated with Art Nouveau and certain Brazilian architectural influences of the time, reveals a concern for ornamentation and elegance. This architectural example is a testament to the cultural and artistic richness that marked that period in Vila Nova de Cerveira.
