The Chapel of Sta. Marinha-Ledo stands in the Ledo area, in the village of Covas, Paredes de Coura municipality. It is located next to the M524, on a stretch where the road winds through a gentle slope covered by deciduous trees and conifers.
From its platform, the surrounding forest can be seen, creating a tranquil environment, away from the hustle and bustle of main roads.
This small temple, dedicated to Saint Marina, features a simple layout with a granite ashlar facade and a door crowned by an oculus. The walls show marks of natural wear, giving it a rustic character that reflects decades of community history.
The key is entrusted to a local resident, available to open the interior upon prior contact, allowing visitors to appreciate the details of the altar and the small bell that announces celebrations.
Immediately behind the chapel, there is a resting area equipped with a stone table and benches, benefiting from running water in a nearby fountain. A granite barbecue, currently overgrown with low-lying vegetation, recalls past moments of conviviality.
The ensemble invites a quiet break amidst oak and pine trees, ideal for those seeking a serene experience alongside local heritage.
