The Rural Museum of Ponte de Lima is located in Arnado Park, in Ponte de Lima. This park is situated on the right bank of the Lima River. To reach the museum, simply enter the park and follow the path inside.
The museum is housed in an old, small stone house, which was restored, and is distinguished by the presence of a tank right in front of it, integrated into the environment of the Botanical Garden.
This museum invites visitors on a journey to the region's rural past. It is dedicated to showcasing aspects of daily life and traditional rural activities.
Inside, there is a recreation of a traditional kitchen, complete with its oven and fireplace. There are also spaces dedicated to the flax cycle and to tools related to corn cultivation. A small wine cellar completes the exhibition, illustrating different facets of ancient rural life.
The museum is housed in a building that, by itself, already tells a story. It is an old stone house that was restored to house the museum collection.
Its traditional architecture and the presence of a tank in front give it a unique character, standing out harmoniously within the lush environment of the Botanical Garden.
