The Ermida Viewpoint is located in the locality of Ermida, part of the parish of Entre Ambos-os-Rios, Ermida e Germil, in the municipality of Ponte da Barca. This observation point rises in a strategic position that allows it to embrace a vast surrounding area, offering a privileged perspective on the natural landscape.
From this location, the view reveals an imposing natural scene. The sensation of being flanked by two deep valleys, shaped by the waters that flow through them, stands out: to the left, one can glimpse the valley of the Carcerelha stream, and to the right, that of the Froufe river. This geographical configuration highlights the wild beauty and grandeur of the surrounding region.
From the Ermida Viewpoint, it is possible to observe a landscape built by man in harmony with the natural environment. Ahead, a remarkable staircase of terraced fields extends, enveloping the village, a testament to the local agricultural engineering over time. Further in the background, the serene course of the Lima river appears, and on clear days, some claim that the horizon line even allows a glimpse of the sea, making the experience even more comprehensive.
