Built in the 16th century, it was part of the old Convent of Santa Clara. It was built on the site where a small hermitage existed, belonging to the Order of the Poor Clares.
It features Renaissance, Mannerist and Baroque features. The exterior is simple and sober, with a portal in an arch and a tile panel dedicated to Santa Clara standing out.
It contrasts with the discreet facade, displaying altars in gilded wood carvings, figurative tiles from the 18th century and a high choir with two floors.
It includes a pulpit dated 1704, tile panels representing Saint Francis and Santa Clara and several sepulchral covers on the floor.
Located in the historic area of Caminha, on Rua Benemérito Joaquim Rosas. Access is via stairways and ramps, with the church on an elevated platform.
