The Penedo da Teixogueira is formed by two remarkable stones: the Penedo da Toca and the Pedra Sobreposta, which are found on top of each other, creating an intriguing and natural equilibrium that has aroused the curiosity of many over time.
The inhabitants of Pias believe that the Penedo da Toca was transported by Our Lady, who placed it in the location with great ease. The proof of this story is said to be the mark of the Lady's hands, left on the stone. It is said that, after placing the rock, she still had time to spin seven bobbins of linen.
The residents of Sago claim that the Pedra Sobreposta has been in this location since the flood, when a great flood caused a huge rock to be dragged by the waters and piled on top of another. For the locals, this event symbolizes divine power and serves as a memory of the punishment that God imposed on the world of evil.
This place, with its impressive rock formations and the stories and legends that surround it, is a great place to visit for those who want to explore nature and learn about the cultural traditions of the region. The tranquility of the environment makes it perfect for walks and moments of contemplation.
