It is located in the parish of Ázere, in the municipality of Arcos de Valdevez, crossing the Ázere River. It is in a rural environment, surrounded by fields, scrubland and forest, about 1 km from the confluence with the Vez River.
Built between the 13th and 14th centuries, it was rebuilt in 1613 by João Rodrigues. It suffered damage over time, including a flood in 1999 that affected part of the structure.
