Located in São Simão, Azeitão, next to the EN 10 road, on the outskirts of the village, in a peaceful location surrounded by rural landscape.
A Gothic cross protected by an 18th-century chapel. The cross features images of Christ and the Virgin with Child, as well as coats of arms, including that of the Villalobos family. It is a historical and religious landmark.
Commissioned in 1474 by Vasco Queimado de Villalobos, a nobleman of the Royal House. In 1756, Manuel Martins built the chapel to protect the cross.
National Monument since 1910, valued for its history and unique architecture.
An inscription at the base of the cross records its origin and invites reflection on the historical and spiritual legacy of the region.
