Replica of a 16th-century pillory, built in 1988 to honor the original destroyed in 1914. Fragments of the old one are still preserved by the City Hall.
Limestone structure with three steps, a simple cylindrical column, and a pyramid-shaped top. An inscription identifies its reconstruction.
It represents the historical autonomy of Sesimbra and keeps alive the memory of the old local administration.
Monument protected as a Property of Public Interest since 1933.
