Praia Grande is located on the coastal front of the village of Porto Covo, in the municipality of Sines. It is considered the main bathing area that directly borders the local urban fabric. It is nestled at the base of cliffs, which gives it a distinctive natural setting.
With a sandy stretch of approximately 200 meters, Praia Grande features light-colored sands and generally clear waters. The landscape is marked by the imposing presence of the cliffs that delimit the sandy area at its rear, creating a characteristic natural scenery of the Alentejo coast.
The environment at Praia Grande benefits from the partial shelter provided by the cliffs. Its waters offer conditions that attract water sports enthusiasts such as surfing and bodyboarding, making it a recognized location for these activities. It is a beach that feels simultaneously part of village life and framed by the coastal nature.
