Tróia (River) Beach is located on the Tróia peninsula, integrated into the Tróia Resort area. It is situated on the south bank of the Sado River estuary, benefiting from the peninsula's natural protection. To the west, the beach borders Tróia Marina. From here, it is possible to observe the city of Setúbal across the water.
To the south, the sandy area extends towards an estuarine area which is part of the Sado Estuary Natural Reserve, giving the beach a surrounding environment with specific natural characteristics.
One of the main characteristics that distinguish Tróia (River) Beach is its waters. Thanks to its protected location within the river's estuary and the peninsula's own configuration, sea agitation is significantly attenuated.
This results in generally calm and tranquil waters, ideal for those seeking a serene environment for swimming and enjoying the proximity to the river water.
The beach is composed of an extensive stretch of sand, forming a continuous sandy area along the riverbank. This space offers a considerable area for visitors.
The vastness of the sandy area allows for long walks along the waterline and finding spots to relax and enjoy the environment, with ample space for everyone.
The southernmost area of Tróia (River) Beach borders a zone that is integrated into the Sado Estuary Natural Reserve. This proximity to the reserve provides the beach with a particular natural environment.
Visitors have the opportunity to experience the transition from the bathing area to the characteristic estuary landscape, with its associated flora and fauna, in a wilder and more natural setting.
