Morgavel Beach is situated in the municipality of Sines, in the town of the same name. This oceanic coastal beach is part of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park.
Access to the beach area is available from the adjacent Morgavel urbanization. The surroundings combine proximity to a residential area with the natural character of the Alentejo coast.
Morgavel Beach stands out for its wide and extensive sandy area, providing ample space for visitors. The sand is fine, with a golden hue.
At the northern end of the beach, the Morgavel Stream flows into the sea, an element that marks the local landscape. To the south, the sandy area becomes more irregular, punctuated by the presence of rock formations that break the continuity of the sand, while the northern area presents a more uniform front.
Behind the sandy area, there is a system of consolidated dunes that characterizes the landscape of Morgavel Beach. These sand elevations, fixed by coastal vegetation, contribute to the natural environment of the place.
The flora present in the dunes offers a particular visual spectacle, especially in spring, when the vegetation is most exuberant. This surrounding natural environment gives the beach a touch of wild beauty.
The sea at Morgavel Beach features waters that are frequently transparent. The northern area, freer of rocks, is generally the most sought after for swimming.
At low tide, small warm water pools form on the sandy area, which are an attraction for children. The wave conditions make this beach a suitable place for practicing water sports, such as surfing and bodyboarding.
