Alpertuche Beach is situated within the vast Arrábida Natural Park, in the municipality of Setúbal. It faces southeast, nestled amongst rock formations that shape the coastline in this area.
Access is typically via a trail that descends the hillside, surrounded by characteristic mountain vegetation, such as eucalyptus trees, pines, and various aromatic plants that perfume the air with a blend of earthy and marine fragrances.
This beach is primarily composed of pebbles, stones rounded by the constant movement of the water, which lend a distinctive texture to the area. During low tide, a sandy area is revealed, inviting a walk closer to the water's edge.
Alpertuche is a place that conveys a sense of wild beauty. The small bay, sheltered by the rocks, resembles a sanctuary where the turquoise waters find their calm. Although they can be cool, the waters are remarkably clear and calm, ideal for observing the marine floor.
Near the beach access, a small old building stands out. This house, visible to arrivals, is a remnant of a past era of life on these beaches, once serving as a shelter or support point for those frequenting the area. Today, it represents a symbolic element of the history and evolution of this Arrábida nook, flanked by the houses spread along the hillside.
