Sesmaria Beach is located on the coastal strip of the municipality of Grândola, in the Melides region. It faces the Atlantic Ocean, forming part of the area that marks the transition between this municipality and Santiago do Cacém, further south.
Its position on the coast, within an extensive seafront, means that the most direct and common access is by walking along the sand from the beach immediately to the north.
This beach is characterized by a wide expanse of fine sand, offering ample space. Its vast extent allows visitors to enjoy the location with a sense of spaciousness and privacy.
The waters that bathe Sesmaria Beach tend to be calm, providing a tranquil and inviting environment for contact with the sea.
The surrounding landscape of Sesmaria Beach is dominated by nature. To the east, the sandy area is bordered by a pine forest, which provides a green backdrop to the coastal zone.
The dune system is also a prominent feature, with its characteristic vegetation adapted to the coastal environment. As it is a generally unfrequented beach, Sesmaria preserves a wilder and more serene atmosphere, ideal for those seeking tranquility and a closer connection with the nature of the Alentejo coast.
