Praia da Gaivota is located on the coast of the municipality of Sines, in the locality of Porto Covo. It is situated in the urban seafront area of the village, integrated into a natural cove surrounded by rocky cliffs. Its location falls within the area of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park.
The sandy area of this beach is small, composed of sand mixed with pebbles and stones. It is framed by rock formations and cliffs that define the cove, contributing to a unique coastal scenery. The waters are generally clear.
A particular feature of this beach is that its sandy area is completely covered by water during high tide. Access to the site is, therefore, only possible during the low tide period, by traversing the rock formations in the area adjacent to neighboring beaches.
It is important to note that this beach does not have surveillance. Given its particular tide-dependent access, caution is recommended during visits and careful planning, always considering the tide's progression to ensure a safe experience.
