Situated on the Costa da Caparica, in the municipality of Almada, Praia 19 is nestled within an extensive dune cordon. Its location offers a wide landscape, with dunes stretching to the horizon and sandstone cliffs visible in the distance.
The beach's peculiar name originates from stop number 19 of the old tourist train that ran along the coast during the summer, marking this point on the coastline.
Praia 19 stands out for its preserved natural landscape. The vast sandy beach is framed by an extensive dune system, which gives the place a wild and isolated appearance, far from the more urbanized area of Costa da Caparica.
The presence of imposing sandstone cliffs in the distance contributes to the scenic beauty of this coastal area, providing a distinct natural setting for visitors.
Recognized as a naturist beach since 1995, Praia 19 is a place where nudism is practiced naturally and acceptably. This environment of acceptance and freedom is one of its main characteristics.
Over the years, it has become an important reference point for the LGBT community, attracting visitors of diverse backgrounds and ages, which gives it a particularly cosmopolitan and relaxed convivial atmosphere.
