Location

Seixal Urban Park is located in the Quinta do Outeiro urbanization, in the municipality and council of Seixal. Built on a natural hill, locally known as Alto Dona Ana, the park is in an elevated position, approximately 28 meters above sea level. This characteristic gives it a wide and privileged perspective over the Seixal Bay, the Tagus estuary, and even the city of Lisbon, encompassing the riverside arc. Its location offers a distinct visual setting over the historic center of Seixal.

A Requalified Natural Space

This park extends over an area of 5.3 hectares, formerly part of a forest and agricultural land belonging to the old Mundet cork factory. Its environmental recovery aimed at the preservation and valorization of local ecosystems. Areas such as the orchard and the olive grove, as well as the cork oak and oak forest, which now invite nature walks, were revitalized. The project included the creation of an entrance square, established on what was an old courtyard, and the construction of a natural amphitheater, which harmoniously integrates into the landscape. Throughout the park, there are pedestrian paths, viewpoints, and rest areas, ideal for a break and contemplation.

Leisure and Outdoor Activities

Seixal Urban Park offers a variety of options for active leisure. It features a set of ten play and recreation equipment, spread throughout its extension, which include swings, a climbing rock, a slide, hammocks, and trampolines. For those seeking more adventure, the park also has an area of platforms connected by balance games, forming an adventure park. These pieces of equipment were designed for various age groups, and some of them have been adapted to allow their use by children and young people with reduced mobility, ensuring that the space is inclusive and accessible to a wide range of visitors.
