The Montijo Pools Urban Park is integrated into the urban area of the Saldanha neighborhood, in the city of Montijo. Its position, adjacent to the Municipal Pools, gives it centrality and ease of access within the urban fabric, presenting itself as an accessible green lung for visitors to the locality.

A Space for Active Leisure

With an area of approximately 16,451 square meters, this park was designed for leisure and the practice of various outdoor activities. For the younger ones, there is a well-equipped playground. Additionally, the park offers a sports court for various sports, encouraging physical activity and social interaction. There is also a skating rink, dedicated to this recreational activity.

The Mini-Golf Course

One of the distinctive features of the Pools Urban Park is its mini-golf course. Designed with different levels of difficulty, this course invites visitors of all ages to test their skills in a fun and relaxed environment. The necessary equipment for playing, such as clubs and balls, can be requested from the reception of the Municipal Pools, adjacent to the park.

Flora and Sustainability

The green environment of the park is enriched by the presence of various tree species, such as imposing plane trees, characteristic cork oaks, pines, and the striking flame tree (Erythrina crista-galli), which contribute to the scenic beauty of the place. In addition to its recreational and aesthetic function, the park stands out for its aspect of environmental innovation. It was one of the first projects in the city to implement a sustainable irrigation system, using water from a superficial aquifer. This water, unfit for human consumption, is perfectly suitable for the maintenance of the park's flora, reflecting a conscious approach to the use of natural resources.
