The Capuchos Garden is located in the locality of Capuchos, in the municipality of Almada. This green space is part of the area included in the Protected Landscape of the Fossil Cliff of Costa de Caparica. Its elevated position in a residential area provides a setting that combines urban tranquility with proximity to coastal nature.
This public garden surrounds the old Capuchos Convent of Caparica, a construction dating back to 1558, commissioned by Lourenço Pires de Távora. The presence of the convent gives the garden a legacy character, integrating elements from a past era into the present environment of the space. Its history is, therefore, intrinsically linked to the origin and evolution of this place.
As one of the important green spaces in the municipality, the Capuchos Garden offers an inviting environment for leisure and culture. From this elevated point, it is possible to contemplate the vast expanse of the Atlantic coast, enjoying a panoramic view of the sea. The combination of well-maintained vegetation with the breadth of the ocean landscape contributes to an atmosphere of tranquility and contemplation.
