The only preserved part of an old 16th-century hermitage dedicated to Saint Sebastian, the patron saint against diseases.
It survived the 1755 earthquake and was integrated into the Church of São Francisco in the 18th century.
In the 20th century, with the old church in ruins, the portal was adapted for use in civil buildings.
An example of Manueline style, with detailed decoration and motifs inspired by nature.
Declared a Monument of Municipal Interest in 2003.
It can be visited at Rua Serpa Pinto, nº 41, in Barreiro, integrated into the facade of an urban building.
