Located on the Portuguese coast, integrated into the municipality of Setúbal and the Arrábida Natural Park, Praia do Monte Branco is situated on the eastern side of Portinho da Arrábida bay. This positioning gives it a striking natural setting, characteristic of the region's protected landscape.
This coastal area features a stretch of sand of reduced size. The space is punctuated by the presence of pebbles and rock blocks, which mix with the sand. The rocky composition means that the extent of area available for staying can vary significantly depending on the tide level.
The name "Monte Branco" originates from a past peculiarity: there used to be a large dune of fine white sand that covered the rocks and ascended the slope up to the vegetation. Although this dune no longer exists, the designation has remained as a memory of this original characteristic.
Approximately two hundred meters from the coast, in front of this beach area, stands the prominent Penedo da Anicha. This rocky islet is a distinctive scenic element of the local landscape. The area around the rock is a point of interest for those who enjoy water activities, being a common spot for diving, given the presence of this underwater rock formation and the associated marine life.
Praia do Monte Branco is recognized for its tranquil environment. Being less sought after, it offers a greater sense of privacy and direct contact with the nature of Arrábida. It is a place that invites moments of greater calm and introspection by the sea, away from more crowded environments.
