This green space represents an extension of the already existing park, occupying an area that was previously a roadway and has been carefully transformed. Its position allows for pedestrian connection between the areas of Brejos de Azeitão and Vila Nogueira, extending parallel to the National Road 10, to the east.

Urban Space Requalification

Azeitão Bacalhôa Park II is an example of how a space that was once nondescript and lacked a defined purpose can be fully restored. With the addition of approximately four hectares, this park now offers an expanded area dedicated to leisure and social gathering. The intervention has brought a new dimension to the urban environment, creating a more harmonious and accessible place for the community. Part of its design also includes a water retention basin, an element intended to enhance safety during heavy rainfall.

Leisure and Amenities

This park was designed to provide various outdoor leisure options. For the younger generation, there are specific facilities such as a skate park, a street basketball court, and a zip line. For those seeking leisurely strolls, the park features pedestrian paths, both paved and made of compacted earth, extending for approximately one kilometer. Along these paths, there are several resting areas, inviting visitors to relax. The park is also equipped with bicycle parking, urban furniture for visitor comfort, and LED lighting, ensuring a good experience even after dark. Bridges designed within the project connect areas that were previously physically separated, improving flow and connectivity within the space.

Natural and Landscaping Elements

The scenery of Azeitão Bacalhôa Park II is enriched by landscaped areas, featuring prominent shrubs and a variety of trees. One of the most notable aspects of its landscape is the presence of ancient olive trees, which lend a unique character to the location and a connection to the region's history. Additionally, the park includes a picnic area with ample shaded spots, ideal for outdoor social moments. The entire expanse, exceeding six hundred meters in length, is bordered by a wooden fence, integrating naturally with the surrounding landscape.
