In Aldeia de Paio Pires, in Seixal, surrounded by urban areas, but still with vestiges of traditional olive groves.
The olive press was built in the 19th century and initially served for wine production. At the end of the 19th century, it began to be used to produce olive oil, operating until 1956. It was restored in 2009 and is now open to the public.
The building has a polygonal shape with two floors in the residential part and one in the olive press. The walls are white with brick arches, and the roof is gabled. It maintains the old olive oil production equipment.
The olive press preserves a granite mill powered by animal traction and an iron press, used to grind and extract olive oil from the olives.
The space functions as a museum, where visitors can learn about the traditional olive oil production process.
