The Ribeira de Alcolobre Trail is located in the Ribeira de Alcolobre area, near Rossio ao Sul do Tejo, in the municipality of Abrantes. This route follows the stream that forms the border between the municipalities of Abrantes and Constância, flowing into the left bank of the Tagus River. The stream runs through a deeply incised and narrow valley, surrounded by rock formations, which contributes to a distinct and well-preserved natural environment.

Natural Heritage

Along the Ribeira de Alcolobre, a well-preserved riparian gallery can be observed. This natural environment is rich in various arboreal and plant species, such as the alder, the ash, the black willow, and the black alder. The area also hosts representative communities of plants like the butcher's broom and the royal fern. The way the valley develops along the stream has contributed to the preservation of this riparian ecosystem.
