The Tramagal Viewpoint, situated in the town of Tramagal itself, in the municipality of Abrantes, stands as a privileged observation point. This site offers a broad perspective on the surrounding landscape, with the Tagus River as its central element. It is located in a position that allows for pedestrian connection to other areas of the village, such as Cais das Barcas, via a revitalized route that invites a stroll through the surroundings.
This viewpoint is more than just a vantage point; it is a space designed as a tribute. It was designed by Architect Keill do Amaral, with the aim of honoring the memory of Commander Eduardo Duarte Ferreira. This notable figure was a pioneer in Portugal's metalworking industry, being the founder of Metalúrgica Duarte Ferreira, a company of great relevance to the history and development of Tramagal. The presence of this monument gives the viewpoint a particular cultural and historical significance.
From the Tramagal Viewpoint, a panorama unfolds, encompassing the extensive riverside landscapes of the Tagus. The view focuses on the serene course of the river, which winds through lush green banks. It is possible to appreciate the breadth of the riverbed, with emphasis on the area of Rio de Moinhos and the view of Rossio ao Sul do Tejo and the city of Abrantes in the distance. This spot offers an opportunity for a contemplative pause, allowing visitors to observe the tranquility of the fluvial landscape and its harmony with the surrounding environment.
