The Miradouro da Penha is located in the town of Tramagal, a parish in the municipality of Abrantes. Situated in the urban area of Quinta dos Bicos, this spot offers an elevated and easily accessible perspective, naturally integrating into the village's environment and providing a privileged observation point over the surroundings.
From Miradouro da Penha, it is possible to enjoy wide panoramic views that stretch across the horizon. The central element of the landscape is the Tagus River, which here reveals its grandeur, winding through the region. The view encompasses the river banks and the vast riverside plains, creating a natural setting that invites contemplation and relaxation.
This viewpoint is not just an observation point, but also a space that honors memory. On site, there is a monument that pays tribute to Commander Eduardo Duarte Ferreira. This figure was a pioneer in Portugal's metalworking industry and founder of Metalúrgica Duarte Ferreira, a company with strong ties to Tramagal's history. The space was designed by architect Keill do Amaral, connecting the beauty of the landscape to the historical and industrial value of the region.
Recently, Miradouro da Penha underwent interventions aimed at improving the visitor experience. The paths connecting this point to other areas of the village were redeveloped, such as the one leading to Cais das Barcas, facilitating walks. The overall environment was designed to promote well-being, featuring areas that invite rest and a serene appreciation of the surroundings.
