Built in the 17th and 18th centuries, it has a "U" shape and combines classical and baroque features. It includes gardens, decorative tiles inside and on the terrace, and elegant details such as windows and pinnacles.
It was a noble residence and played important roles, such as military headquarters in the 19th century. Since 1956 it has been the City Hall of Santarém.
