The Pinhal D.ª Beatriz da Silva is located in the parish of Arreciadas, in the municipality of Abrantes, between the “Bairro Novo do Pinhal” and the local football field. It is set in a transition zone between urban and rural areas, marked by patches of cork oaks and pine trees.
This forest patch is part of a gently rolling territory, close to the Tagus River watercourse, which lies to the south of the settlement, providing a discreet and tranquil backdrop to the arboreal ensemble.
The pine forest reveals a regular canopy of maritime pines, whose dense shade creates a cool environment during the warmer hours. The ground, covered with dry needles, cushions footsteps and invites short walks. Here, the presence of wild mushrooms and some bird species typical of Mediterranean woodlands stands out.
As one traverses the area, clearings are found where the sun manages to filter through, reminiscent of the typical structure of the Alentejo montados, albeit on a smaller scale, offering echoes of serenity and simple contact with nature.
From slightly elevated points, visitors can enjoy a perspective over the agricultural plains of the Tagus Valley and, on clear days, discern the distant outline of the reservoir. The pine canopies create a green undulation that contrasts with the open horizon.
This combination of woodland and wide horizon makes the place particularly pleasant for moments of contemplation or anchoring photography, where the deep green of the pine forest overlays the Alentejo luminosity.
