It is located in the Santa Maria area, about 3 km from the city of Torres Novas, near the Caveira area, in the municipality of Torres Novas, district of Santarém.
These ruins belong to an ancient Roman agricultural house, revealing the organization and way of life of a rustic villa from the 2nd to 4th centuries.
During excavations carried out in 1962, hundreds of Roman coins, ceramic pieces, bronze, iron and glass objects, decorated stucco, rings, filtering stones and even a statue of Eros were discovered. The entire collection is on display at the Carlos Reis Municipal Museum in Torres Novas.
Visitors can observe the preserved mosaics, the house's heating system, the thermal baths and the central courtyard, which show details of Roman comfort and engineering.
Accessible by the road that crosses the industrial area, on the opposite side of the entrance to the A23 in the Torres Novas/Entroncamento direction.
Villa Cardillio was declared a National Monument in 1967, valuing its historical and archaeological importance.
