The chapel has a simple exterior, but the interior is filled with artistic details. The architecture blends Mannerist and Baroque influences, with colorful vaults and frescoes on the ceiling.
The main altar is richly decorated with gilded carvings and 18th-century sculptures. There is also an ancient Piétà sculpture, of great historical value, from the 16th century.
The chapel's ceiling is decorated with frescoes painted in 1681, which depict angels and other religious elements, creating a unique atmosphere.
The chapel was part of the old Royal Palace, which included various buildings and gardens. Today, only the chapel and the falconry remain as testimonies to this grand ensemble.
Today, the chapel is a cultural space, preserving the history and art of the village, and is an important tourist attraction for those visiting Salvaterra de Magos.
