It is located right next to the old Pousada de Ourém, in Largo D. João Manso, in the heart of the historic area of the town.
It is the first of four small religious buildings that form the Stations of the Cross in the old Vila de Ourém, part of a Catholic tradition that invites reflection on the final moments of Christ.
Small baroque construction with simple lines. The façade has a beautiful stone portal with an arch-shaped pediment, where a medallion with symbols of the Passion of Christ is carved, topped by a cross. The corners are decorated with pinnacles.
Inside there is a small altar on two columns and the ceiling has a vaulted structure. The side oculi (round windows) function as light and ventilation entrances.
The Passo is integrated into a picturesque setting, with cobbled streets and typical houses, and right next to it grows a vibrant bougainvillea that fills the place with color and charm.
Ideal to start the walk through the 4 Passos of the Stations of the Cross scattered around the town. This is the starting point.
It is part of the protected area of the old Vila de Ourém, which reinforces its historical and cultural value.
